The Story Behind the Work

Built from the wreckage of a life that had to be rebuilt.

Pastor Jarvis is not a motivational speaker who read the right books. He is a man who built something extraordinary, lost it all, and came back with something better — a calling.

The Beginning

Award-winning florist. Entrepreneur. Builder.

Before the stages and the speaking, there was a flower shop. Pastor Jarvis built a floral business from the ground up — and built it well. He became an award-winning florist, recognized for craft, creativity, and the kind of attention to detail that turns a transaction into an experience. He understood people. He understood beauty. He understood what it meant to make something out of nothing.

That business became the foundation for everything that followed — and the first thing he would lose.

02

The Fall

Losing everything. Learning everything.

The business collapsed. Not slowly — the way things sometimes fade — but completely. The kind of loss that strips away not just the income but the identity. Pastor Jarvis lost the business, the revenue, the reputation he had spent years building. He found himself starting over with nothing but the lessons that only failure can teach.

Most people do not talk about this part. He does. Because the fall is where the real education happened — about money, about people, about what it means to build something that actually lasts. Every program he delivers today is built on what he learned in that season.

The Rebuild

7venthAvenue. A new kind of business.

Out of the rebuild came 7venthAvenue — a company built on a different foundation. Not just revenue and growth, but purpose, human development, and the belief that the people inside an organization are its most underutilized asset. 7venthAvenue became the platform for everything Pastor Jarvis does: speaking, facilitation, coaching, and the programs that have moved rooms across the country.

The name is intentional. Seven is the number of completion. The avenue is the path forward. 7venthAvenue exists to help individuals and organizations find their complete path.

The Book

818: A Guide to Purpose.

The book came out of the journey. 818 is not a self-help book in the traditional sense — it is a guide to purpose, written from the inside of a life that had to find it the hard way. The title comes from a specific moment of clarity, a chapter in the story where everything that had been lost began to make sense as preparation.

818 has become a companion to the speaking work — a resource that extends the conversation beyond the stage and into the daily lives of the people who need it most.

The Calling

Pastor. Speaker. Facilitator.

The pastoral calling did not come from a classroom or a credential. It came from a life lived at the intersection of loss and purpose. Pastor Jarvis did not choose this path because it was offered to him. He was shaped into it by everything he survived, everything he rebuilt, and every room that needed someone who had actually been through it.

Today he speaks to hospitality companies, churches, reentry programs, schools, and organizations of every kind — anywhere people need to be reminded that their humanity is not a liability. It is the advantage.

"I did not choose this work. This work chose me — through every loss, every rebuild, and every room that needed something I did not know I had until I stood in it."
